Day of the Nation, September 2. Originally was an independence day commemorating the proclamation of independence on this day following the Japanese surrender in 1945. It is now a celebration of Ho Chi Minh's declaration of freedom for Vietnam, and Ho Chi Minh Memorial Day.
Independence Day, June 14. Anniversary of independence from France in 1949. Only in South Vietnam.
Founding of the Communist Party, February 3.
Liberation of Saigon, April 30.
Tet Nguyen Dan, occurs in January of February. Lunar new year three day festival. Same as Chinese New Year.
Thanh Minh, between April 5 and 20. Same as Taiwan's Ching Ming festival.
Teacher Day, November 20.
