Sabbath
Day of rest.
For the Jews it is on Saturday.
Initially, the Christians also celebrated the Sabbath on Saturday in addition to the Lord's Day on Sunday, which is the day of Christ's ressurection.
As the Christians grew apart from the Jews, they abandoned Saturday, and began to regard Sunday as the Sabbath.
An exception is the Seventh-Day Adventists, who observe the Sabbath on Saturday.
