Independence Day, July 28-29. Commemorates the declaration of independence from Spain issued by Joséde San Martín in 1821.
Inti Raymi Fiesta, June 24. Is celebrated in San Antonio de Pichincha, Cuzco, Andahuaylas and Apurimac valleys, and is also called Sun Festival and Peasant's Day.
