Labor Day
Labor Day. In many nations this is celebrated on May 1.

International Workers' Day, May Day
, Eight Hours Day, International Day of Solidarity of the Working People, or
Saint Joseph the Worker Day. In the United States it occurs on the first
Monday in September.
Labor's holiday was chosen to be spaced as far as possible from other holidays.
First celebrated by the Knights of Labor in New York City in 1882 and 1884.
Labor Sunday, day before Labor Day. This day is observed in some churches in the United States and Canada with special
services attended by labor organizations.
